2001 - 2002, I started a diet called 'The Atkins'. Many of you may of heard about this, and to find out more information please visit the website. I followed it for a while, and managed to lose 21lbs (1 1/2 st). I did find it rather constrictive, and was told about another called 'Protein Power. I did like this diet, and managed to stay on it longer, resulting me to lose a futher 21lbs (1 1/2st), which was a total of 42lbs (3st).
Unfortunately, I stopped losing - no matter what I did, the bugger wouldn't budge.
2003 - I have no decided to start the low-carbing again!! I have found a good book, which is very similar to Atkins, but also it's not. It's by a guy called 'Charles Clark'. Not only is it written for a British audience, but, Clark is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburgh and an acknowledged world expert on the role of insulin and this makes for a much better, easier to read and more relevant book on low-carb eating for the British market.
The plan I am now following is called:
The New High Protein Diet.
I also tend to shop at The Lowcarb Megastore - which is based in the UK and can help all the Low-Carbers out there, who are struggling for the things they miss the most!
The point of the journal? Well, so I can keep a track of what I have eaten throughout the day, and course of my diet. To have people also give their thoughts, and information, and even their criticism.
So..? Bring it on!!
